When last we saw Ruby, she was having a breakthrough. An epiphany. An AHA around what happens when “I can’t” thinking falls away and “I CAN” thinking is free to take over.
Let’s see how the feeling of “capable” — specifically around fining a job that checks all the boxes — informs her day…..
Hey, what happened to the idea of making up and playing a “Job Hunting” game?
Gawww!! Ruby’s taking the path of least resistance. Doing what’s easiest — what comes most naturally — rather than what’s best, in spite of her epiphany around being completely capable of finding a job that’s right for her. Oh, Ruby.
But…. who’s to say everything isn’t happening in its perfect time?
Yeah, who’s to say Ruby’s not exactly where she needs to be, positioned to get the next “most right thing for her” on her journey? Life isn’t a straight line and we can miss out on awesome things when we try to make it into one…..
What might Ruby be getting from this random encounter?
A different take on “work”, perhaps?
A look at how easy it can be to receive when you’re being true to who you are?
A modeling of how doing what you’re good at AND receiving in exchange for it can go together?
Help is everywhere…
Just as Can Man and George the Bird and Poet-O act as HELPERS along the way of Ruby’s heroic journey… so does Joker Ray. So many Helpers already, and her time in the unknown of The Wonderful World of Unstructured Time has only just begun.
AND there will be more. You can count on it.
For ALL of us — whatever our own current heroic journey is serving up — we can all count on Helpers showing up. Lots of them. This is why it’s a good idea to be good at recognizing them. So we can appreciate them when they do show up. AND take full (guilt-free) advantage of what they’ve shown up to give us.
How To Spot A Helper On Your Way Through Life
Think about who you know who….
» helps you navigate challenges - big and small
» makes it easier for you to reflect on your potential
» encourages you to get the skills you’ll need for what you’re up to
» believes in you and offers encouragement
» comforts you when you need some
» reassures you you are not alone in your quest
So many Helpers, so many FORMS…
One very cool thing about Helpers is all of the various FORMS they can take. Because they don’t just come in the form of ‘people’.
Sure, they’re easy to identify when they show up as a friend or a teacher or a coach, but they can also take the less obvious form of, say, something you read in a post (like this!) or art you experience or — as in Ruby’s case — a random encounter with a perfect stranger.
And let’s not overlook how a Helper can also show up right inside of your own self! in the form of a spontaneous insight or smart self-talk.
Helpers are literally EVERYWHERE, so think about it….
How about you?
When you reflect on the role of Helpers in your life…
Who freely shares of their “Everything” with you?
Who or what has helped you — or is currently helping you — to feel a little less alone on your quest?
OR the other way around….
Who might consider YOU — or what you create — to be a Helper?
Since Helpers are essential to our journey and they’re EVERYWHERE, let’s tap to affirm their presence in our lives SO THAT we can both attract more of them even as we get better at being them…
Let’s tap
Tapping Script: Embracing the Power of Helpers
(aka Getting Good at Receiving)
(Before Tapping we begin with a short Visualization that focuses us in on one Helper that can represent ALL Helpers)
Tapping through the points, beginning with the inside of the eyebrow….
To honor the role of Helpers in my life,
I let this one Helper I have in mind
represent ALL the Helpers who’ve ever played a role in my life.
Feeling gratitude for them ALL
and the way they’ve helped me on my way.
When I hold the help as
’freely-given gifts’
it opens me to receiving even more.Anchoring with Visualization / Feeling / Color
I acknowledge all the many ways Helpers show up for me —
whether as people, ideas, or unexpected moments.
And if there’s anything in the way of
being GREAT at receiving help,
I’m letting that go right now.
Releasing and letting go of any resistance
to help that is freely-given.
Releasing and letting go of any and all beliefs
that ‘I have to do everything on my own’.
Because I WELCOME the Helpers
who show up for me.
I love the way they make me feel
less alone,
more able to tap into my potential,
how they offer reassurance when I’m in doubt.
I am so worthy of the support that comes my way
and I am ready to receive with grace.

When I reflect on and acknowledge how much help I get
it makes it so easy to trust
that the right Helpers will continue to appear
just as they always have
in the right moment, with the right message.
I am so open to that way of operating.
Opening myself to receiving…
encouragement,
reassurance,
guidance.
I release any and all limiting beliefs
that tell me ‘I shouldn’t ASK for help’.
I am comfortable asking
I am comfortable welcoming in the very support
that will help me move forward with ease
and confidence.
I honor the Helpers that live right within me, as well:
my inner wisdom,
my intuition,
the deep knowing I possess
and have direct access to.
So grateful for the ways I can help myself.
So grateful for the ways I can help others.
So grateful for the way others can help me.
Acting as a Helper
to both myself and to others
and allowing others to do the same
uplifts me, emboldens me, strengthens me, increases me
So I allow myself to give and receive Help
knowing that Help is an essential part of the journey.Anchoring with Visualization / Feeling / Color
Thanks for tapping along! Join us next time when Ruby receives even more from Joker Ray…..
This could not have been more timely. I plan to tap in this wisdom a few more times this week!
