A way to find out what's really in there

When last we saw Ruby she was right where she is now — sitting on the sidewalk crying her eyes out…….
So Ruby does. She takes out her book and — instead of recording what other people have to say — she gets in touch with what she has to say.
And what she has to say is… well, it’s not very nice.
In fact, it’s brutal.
BUT if she can stay with what it takes to “write whatever is there… OUT”, there’s a chance she’ll get to what’s underneath the self-condemnation and catastrophising……….
She did it! She got it OUT. She got to what was underneath!!!!!!
And what was underneath?
Something obvious, but news to her. In other words, self-knowledge…..
How’s that for a happy ending?
Sure, questions still remain, but direct contact with her Very Good Thing — the way her “great voice” is best suited to come through her — has been made, and Ruby is now… Returning With The Prize!
What began with a Call To Adventure — an invitation to sing — that took her out of her Ordinary World — the coat check room — where she went on to have a Meeting with a Mentor — in the guise of a homeless street poet — which helped her to Cross the Threshold of Adventure — and go in search of a new job — only to find herself in the Great Unknown of the Special World — all of Deep City — where she met with all kinds of Helpers, Enemies, Tests and Lessons — that took her to places within herself she’d never have gone to otherwise —allowing her ultimately to Return With The Prize — knowledge around what makes her soul sing.
Ruby = Everybody
The specifics of Ruby’s journey may be unique to her, but she represents everyone with a Very Good Thing.
And we all go on heroic journeys. One journey after another. And with each new adventure we go on we get to know our Thing, our essence, our gifts, our voice better and better… and better.
In fact, when you set off into the next Unknown you’re a new-and-improved hero. Every journey spirals you up a notch.
Jeanne’s next Adventure with Ruby?
Having gotten to the end of the 23 installments that tell the story of Ruby’s Very Good Thing WITH accompanying tapping scripts to address what Ruby goes through, I’m going to now go back to the beginning and do it all over again. As in spiral it up a notch. Because about halfway through the process of sharing it with YOU I had an insight. I thought……
“WHO and HOW might I be now if I knew all this when I was the young woman that Ruby is? Mayyyyyybe… I should turn what I’m creating here into a book specifically for GEN Zers.”
So what’s calling me now is turning Ruby’s Very Good Thing into something specifically for people defined as “socially conscious, diverse, valuing authenticity, mental health, and work-life balance” so they can be helped to live Ruby’s messsage…..
How about you?
Are you in direct, clear contact with YOUR Very Good Thing?
In what ways does your Very Good Thing get used to help others?
What’s Calling to you these days?
Let’s tap
Tapping Script: I got a Thing, you got a Thing
Think about doing that Thing is your way of expressing yourself in the world. Imagine yourself doing it. See it, feel it, hear it… What’s there? What do you notice? Find the feeling that goes along with it and zero in on it. Once you’ve got it, begin tapping through the points….
“I got a Thing, you got a Thing
Everybody’s got a Thing
When we get together, doin’ our Thing
In order to help each other
In order to help your brother”
I live my life being true to my Very Good Thing
I locate it
I honor it
I allow it
I nurture it…
There are times when it’s easy to be true to it
and there are times when it’s less easy to be true to it…
But being true to it, over time -
by being playful with it
and seeing how MY Very Good Thing
can work together with others’,
this is how I make the most of My Very Good Thing
And as I enjoy it more and more
and more
I end up living it…
naturally, easily, fully
- My Very Good Thing -
for my highest good
and the highest good of all those my life touches.
Stop tapping, hold wrist and anchor in this powerful understanding:
I got a thing, you got a Thing
Everybody’s got a Thing
The idea is that we get together
doin’ our Very Good Things
In order to help each other
In order to help your brother
Give your wrist an extra little squeeze on the inhale… let go of the wrist as you exhale… look around you… and enjoy being in contact with YOUR Very Good Thing!
Thanks for tapping along! And for making it to the end of this series. I appreciate it very much.
